Ecomix P is a very effective filter material.

Where is it used?



Ecomix P filter material is used in household and industrial Ecosoft FK filters. Ecomix is placed in the filter as a mixture and during the first regeneration is divided into 4 layers. Regular tableted salt is used for regeneration.

Active ingredients of Ecomix® filter media:



1. Inert material – improves backwashing.



2. FerroSorb sorbent reduces the content of iron and manganese.



The mechanism for reducing iron content consists of adsorption (fixation) on the surface of the material, oxidation, formation of an active layer and autocatalytic oxidation. As a result, the content of all main forms of iron decreases: dissolved, oxidized, organic and colloidal.



The best iron and manganese removal efficiency is achieved by applying well water directly to the Ecomix material.



3. Ion exchange resin (cationite) – softens water.



In the process of water filtration through cation exchange, hardness ions Ca2+ and Mg2+ are replaced by Na+ ions. During regeneration, calcium and magnesium ions are washed down the drain, and the cation exchanger is saturated with sodium ions from the brine.



4. Quartz sand is used to evenly distribute the flow of water through the filter when washing it.

Regeneration of Ecomix® filter material:



During operation, the filter material is periodically regenerated with saline solution, just like conventional ion exchange resins.



At the brine regeneration stage, calcium and magnesium ions are replaced by sodium ions.

Iron and manganese compounds are removed by surface friction of FerroSorb grains during backwashing.
